ABOUT
The Eeyou Istchee Summer Games is a collaboration between many partners within Eeyou Istchee that recognizes the urgent need to gather communities to celebrate culture, tradition and language through sport.
The Eeyou Istchee Summer Games (EISG) is an athletic festival celebrating our rich cultural heritage, and intended to strengthen unity among Cree communities, and promote excellence through sports. This important event will gather athletes, families, and spectators from across Eeyou Istchee for a week of friendly competition, sportsmanship, cultural exchange, and community building.

From July 14-21, 2024 in Mistissini, athletes between the ages of 9 and 18 will come together to compete in over 40 track, field, and acquatic events. There will also be a traditional games' component organized for the adults.

This event is proudly organized by the Eeyou Istchee Sports and Recreation Association in partnership with Cree Nation Government, Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay, Cree Native Arts and Crafts Association, Cree School Board, Cree Nation Youth Council and the Cree Nation of Mistissini.

The last edition of the games held was in 2011 and we are confident that the partnership team will ensure a successful 2024 edition.
